Sean Byrum Leo is a media designer and creative producer for performance. He makes work that explores the minimalism of spectacle, and investigates the use of technology as a performative tool.
Sean has been working in New York City's cultural sector for several years. Recently he assisted Annie Dorsen in the creation of "The Slow Room" premiered Fall 2018. He was the Freehand Art Commission Project Coordinator for the new Freehand New York Hotel, and served as the Festival Producer for Fresh Ground Pepper's first ever Festival in April 2018. Sean also served as the Associate Artistic Director of Strange Sun Theater. For 3-years he has worked with CATCH, the OBIE Award-winning Brooklyn-based performance series. He managed Audience Services and the Coil Festival at Performance Space New York, (formerly Performance Space 122) and was the Associate Producer for the PRELUDE 2017 festival at CUNY.
A born and raised New Yorker, he holds a BA from Bard College's Theater and Performance Program and is currently a MFA candidate in the Video & Media Design program at Carnegie Mellon University.
